"CPTer Refused Entry to Israel"
For the second time in just under a year, Christian Peacemaker Teams worker,
Wendy Lehman (Kidron, OH) was turned back at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv,
Israel yesterday. Israeli officials detained Lehman for seven hours,
periodically searching her belongings and interrogating her. They offered
no explanation for refusing to allow Lehman into the country nor would they
indicate when she might be able to return. Israeli police escorted Lehman
to an Air Canada plane at 1:30 am for a flight back to the U.S. She was
scheduled to spend several weeks with CPT's team in Hebron.
