NORTH MANCHESTER, IN: Peacemaker Congress IV
Christian Peacemaker Teams invites recipients of CPTNET to join us on a
pilgrimage from empire economics to jubilee justice in Christian Peacemaker
Congress IV, September 24-27, 1998. The Congress, sponsored by Christian
Peacemaker Teams and New Call to Peacemaking, will unfold at Joyfield Farm
near N. Manchester, IN.
Conference speaker Ched Myers will lead a journey from Egypt (America's
empire economics) through the wilderness of imagining a new way, and into a
celebration of jubilee. Speaker Sara Reschly will reflect on her work with
CPT's team in Hebron. Congress participants will be challenged to spend the
weekend in the out of doors or in tents (housing is also available in
college dorms or with local families) and help with the preparation of
simple meals which we will share together. Worship, workshops and a public
witness will round out this celebration of peacemaking.
