ROSES, NOT RUBBLE -- Christian Peacemaker Teams (CPT) reports from Hebron:
"The home of the Al-Attrash family was demolished June 11. The Israeli
government has demolished 2000 Palestinian homes in the West Bank in the
last ten years, fifteen in the last two weeks. We have been matching
families whose homes have demolition orders with partner families in the US
and Canada. This is the first family in our matching program to have their
home demolished.
Now living in a tent provided by the Red Cross, Wila' Al-Attrash (14) had
planted a rose near her home. The rose did not survive the demolition. We
ask for Christians to show their concern for this family by creating an
arrangement of roses and rubble in our churches, homes, workplaces,
congressional/MP offices . . . and by writing to government officials." If
you are willing to help, see _________ at the front of the church after the
service for more details.
