Legacy Giving
The Seeds
The Seeds is a community of givers who are making peace and justice part of their lasting legacy. By planning a future gift to CPT, members of The Seeds help ensure that our work to build partnerships to transform violence and oppression, will continue until we achieve collective liberation.
Joining The Seeds is one of the most powerful actions you can take to build communities of justice who embody solidarity and collective liberation. A legacy commitment is an investment in work that will create a more just, peaceful and dignified world for generations to come.
If you’ve already included CPT in your will or estate plan, or are in the process of doing so, let us know by filling out this quick online form.
Ways to give
Leave a gift in your will
If you reside in the United States, CPT would be honored to be a part of your estate planning. Whether you designate a specific amount or leave a percentage of your estate, your legacy gift will empower CPT’s continued work.
Qualified charitable distributions
If you reside in the US and are 72 or older, you can give up to $100,000 per year from your IRA, allowing you to exclude the amount of your RMD from your income, even if you don’t itemize your taxes each year.
Non-cash assets
Donations of securities are a great way to donate to CPT. Publicly traded securities that are actively traded on recognized markets and other readily marketable securities, including bonds and mutual funds, may be accepted. Securities donated to CPT will, in general, be sold as soon as possible.

Also, if you’ve already included CPT in your will or estate plan, let us know! We’d love to officially welcome you to The Seeds.
Donations in the US are tax-deductible. In the US, CPT is a 501(c)3 charity, EIN number 36-3174662.
CPT Canada does not have charitable status, because CRA status restrictions would impact the work that we do on behalf of our partners.
