A person protests the shooting of Haroun in the South Hebron Hills.

This week we pray for Haroun who was shot in the neck by Israeli occupation forces on 1 January 2021. Haroun remains in the hospital in a coma since his injury, and his body has been completely paralyzed.

On that day, a group of occupation soldiers attacked the village of Al-Rukayz, south of Hebron, and tried to seize the electricity transformer owned by the villagers. When the people tried to stop them, a soldier fired a bullet into Haroun’s neck, wounding him.

Since then there have been ongoing demonstrations in the South Hebron Hills, calling for justice for Haroun and a stop to home demolitions. The Israeli military continues to exert force against the people, and many have been injured by the violence.
