Delegations to Palestine
Olives and Origins
October 27 – November 5, 2026
In Palestine, the olive tree stands as far more than a source of fruit. Every olive tree tells a story of roots that run deep, seasons of return, and people who remain steadfast. It embodies the spirit and endurance of the people themselves. Its roots sink deep into the soil, just as generations of Palestinians have remained bound to their ancestral land. Across the centuries, the olive tree has nourished families and carried layers of meaning: cultural, spiritual, and historical. Even in the face of hardship, it continues to grow, becoming a living testament to peace, persistence, and an unbreakable connection to the land.
Every year, October marks the beginning of the olive harvest in Palestine. This season is not just about gathering fruit, but about gathering community, memory, heritage, and resistance. The tradition has been passed down through generations; those who have moved to the cities or even abroad return home to share in the harvest, the sun, the big feasts, and the joy and laughter that fill the fields. From a young age, children take part in this beloved tradition, learning the values of family, sumud, and connection to the land and our origins. Unfortunately, these precious moments continue to be threatened and destroyed by the occupation year after year.
For the past 78 years, the occupation has attempted to erase all means of Palestinian existence; yet, the olive trees stand as living symbols of resilience. Many Palestinian villages are surrounded by Israeli settlements built on stolen hilltops, with settlers attacking them to destroy the spirit of the olive harvest. Harassment, threats, and violent attacks have turned what was once a joyful family gathering into a life-threatening task. After the 7th of October, people in the West Bank have been restricted in their access to their land to pick olives. The Israeli Occupation Forces, for the third year in a row, have prevented many from entering their lands and celebrating this event. This delegation, therefore, opens the door to stand for justice, take direct solidarity action, and strengthen the resilience of the community.
During the delegation, you will connect deeply with the origins of Palestinians, their land, and their heritage. You will stand alongside local communities, contribute to their resilience efforts, and witness firsthand the joy and resilience of daily life under occupation. Palestinians are people who love life and love to live despite the occupation.
Join us to harvest olives and share solidarity, laughter, and hope. This visit offers a rich learning experience that comes through presence and shared humanity.
