Written by the CPT Borderlands Witness Team, July 2007

Open our eyes and ears. Deepen our understanding of the humanity we share with all peoples and the divinity we share with you.
Break down the walls of fear and indifference.
Widen the doors of our hearts that we might more fully welcome all to the banquet of life.
Break down the walls of fear and indifference.
Guide the feet of our sisters and brothers through the blistering heat of the desert, and our own as we bear witness to their struggle for justice.
Break down the walls of fear and indifference.
Grant us courage to tear down walls that separate us and transform all that divides us.
Break down the walls of fear and indifference.
Bless the work of all our hands as we seek to build the beloved community.
Amen.

These gates have become symbols of fragmentation, control, and hardship in the lives of ordinary Palestinians.
