Please pray with intention and focus for peace to prevail upon the community in al-Khalil (Hebron) this Friday, 22 February 2019. This is the anniversary weekend of the 1994 massacre in the Ibrahimi Mosque. The anniversary is remembered with a demonstration of grief by some, and re-celebrated as a victory by others, therefore the possibility of clashes is increased at this time. May peace prevail. Amen.

One day in 1994, there were many mothers weeping. Five decades before, the streets were filled with family’s shrieking. Now, widows walk the street, with their husbands that are sleeping. As the next generation grows, “Filastin (Palestine)” is what they’re screaming.

And yet as these children go to sleep, can we all pray that they are dreaming?

Privilege of movement

Basic freedom of movement in Palestine—walking to the grocery store, driving to visit family, or flying internationally—depends on your nationality, race, and religion. As a Palestinian, you are denied these rights as others in your country move freely.
